Womanifesto Biennial
Womanifesto Biennial
”Began in 1997, Womanifesto has brought together exhibitions, workshop and artist-in-residence programs with the aim to establish exchanges with artists, peers and colleagues and open up new connections with community groups, fulfilling Womanifesto’s aim to strengthen cultural relations with artists internationally and engage local communities while promoting new and emerging forms of artistic expressions. The project also focuses on linking practitioners from Thailand with those from the region and elsewhere with special attempts made to bring artists together, to highlight our shared cultures and establish fresh exchanges. Focusing on the position of women and the wealth of stored knowledge, equally shared amongst men, women and children in rural areas that has been handed down from generation to generation, the emphasis is on engaging with artisans and exploring local materials and a traditional way of life.”
