UHaul Dyke Rescue

UHaul Dyke Rescue

UHaul Dyke Rescue is a project celebrating queer culture and space, created by artist and interior designer, Lucy Nurnberg. Responding to the rise in conservatism across the UK and US, and a rolling back of LGBTQ+ rights, UHaul Dyke Rescue calls upon their team of UHaul dykes, "to provide services from a fleet of repurposed electric vans, designed to meet any queer emergency.” The project includes the construction of Mobile Dyke Bar, “a touring queer space that pops up wherever it’s needed — festivals, venues and parking lots — to bring dyke camp culture to the masses.” Making its debut at Mighty Hoopla festival in June 2024, Mobile Dyke Bar and the UHaul Dyke Rescue team has since popped up at Field Maneuvers Festival, the Yard in Hackney Wick, and Queer Bloomsbury at Charleston House.
