The ‘Anthropocene'

The ‘Anthropocene'

Atmospheric chemist, Paul J. Crutzen, and limeologist, Eugene F. Stoermer, first posited the term, “The Anthropocene,” as a new geological in 2000. Since its introduction, the 'Anthropocene' has launched the formation of the Anthropocene Working Group in the geological community and sparked debates as a cultural term, asking theorists to “rethink the nature-culture relation and to re-assess the narratives that historians of science, technology, and the environmental have written until now.” It is a term 'Anthropocene' that has the potential to “blur the established boundaries and to stimulate cross-disciplinary collaborations between the sciences and the humanities.”
