Intimate Strangers

Intimate Strangers

”Intimate Strangers is a multimedia installation, resulting from two years of fieldwork at Grindr’s (the first gay-men-oriented Locative Geosocial Media) headquarters in West Hollywood. The project was produced and first presented at the Design Museum of London...[Intimate Strangers] relies on an ethnography of Grindr networks in different cities around the world. The installation offers visitors the opportunity to enter Grindr interactions and follow the way it transforms its users’ relationships with their bodies, with individuals and with the collective. Through six recreated historical episodes, visitors experience some of the risks and possibilities of Grindr played to their limits.”
