Imagine Africa 500: Speculative Fiction From Africa

Imagine Africa 500: Speculative Fiction From Africa

Imagine Africa 500: Speculative Fiction from Africa is an anthology that explores the endless potential and possible futures of Africa and its people 500 years into the future and how urban space can play a role in conceptualizing an afro-future.. Through short stories accumulated by authors at workshop in Malawi, various futures are explored, from metropolises with new technologies, gendered wars, android-human interactions, and beyond. From bleak to hopeful, dystopian to utopian, this anthology celebrates alternative futures from African writers from Malawi, to Uganda, to Botswana, as well as South Africa and Nigeria, with an emphasis on amplifying women's and emerging voices.
