Grada Kilomba

Grada Kilomba

Grada Kilomba is a Berlin-based Portuguese artist whose works draw on memory, trauma, gender, and post-colonialism, interrogating concepts of knowledge, power, and violence. The artist's practice explores decolonial storytelling using performances, staged readings, videos, sculptural installations, and sound pieces. Through her works, she asks the question: “What stories are told? How are they told? Moreover, told by whom?” She has had her work shown in many prominent public and private collections around the world, including Tate Modern, the Hammer Museum in LA, and the Hartwig Art Foundation in Amsterdam, among others.
