Future Architects Front

Future Architects Front

Future Architects Front “are an informal organisation of young architectural practitioners and students. [They] are a fully independent group, and exist beyond the pressures and interests of architectural practice, education, and media. [They] operate in a number of different capacities, from research to activism to political campaigning...FAF campaigns to end the exploitative practices that have come to define the world of architecture, collaborating with unions and collectives, and acting as the loud abrasive voice of those at the bottom of the professional hierarchy.” In their campaigning work, FAF were key organisers in the grassroots campaign that elected the first worker and first Black RIBA President, Muyiwa Oki in 2022 and similarly secured over ten seats in RIBA council for the newly created 'Just Transition Lobby'. Through the Just Transition Lobby, FAF will continue to utilise grassroots organising networks to overhaul the governance of built environment institutions, increasing the representation of workers committed to radical action on social and ecological justice.
