Colectivo LASTESIS

Colectivo LASTESIS

LASTESIS is an artistic, interdisciplinary feminist and queer collective from Valparaíso, Chile, featuring Daffne Valdés Vargas and Sibila Sotomayor Van Rysseghem. They are dedicated to spreading feminist theses and demands through performance and video performance, combining performing, sound and visual arts with poetry and social sciences. They have created multiple performances including the street intervention “un violador en tu camino” (2019), replicated all around the globe, and a collaborative performance with Pussy Riot which resulted in a lawsuit against LASTESIS from the Chilean government, claiming that the song incited violence against the police. In addition to their stage work, they have published several books, such as “Set Fear on Fire: The Feminist Call That Set the Americas Ablaze” (Verso, 2023), and they have also received multiple awards including the recognition by TIME magazine in The 2020 TIME100, TIME's list of the world's most influential people.
