Bo i Gemenskap (BIG): Living in Community

Bo i Gemenskap (BIG): Living in Community began in 1976 as a Sweden-based “group of ten women, researchers, journalists and architects. [They] were looking for a reasonably different way of living where we both had a private home but also plenty of common spaces. [They] saw cooperation in everyday life as a basis for community, a better growing up environment for our children, stewardship of resources and an opportunity for a more enjoyable and richer life. [They] decided to find out what such accommodation could look like.” They have published several “research reports and books, [and] many study visits and study trips in Sweden and Europe, which in turn resulted in new articles, lectures and new contacts.”
