Architecture Beyond Capitalism (ABC)

Architecture Beyond Capitalism (ABC)

“ABC School is the free, online gathering of the Architecture Lobby’s Academia Working Group. In the 2021 session, they worked to understand the terrain in which architecture operates and its roles and responsibilities in contemporary ecological and social crises, through a six week program that traversed capitalism, labour and collective practice. In the 2022 session, they homed in on the architecture studio as the locus of architecture culture, the site at which first changes might be made. In 2023, they sought to stitch the daunting and huge with the nuts and bolts of the immediate and comprehensible, inviting all those interested to answer the question of how to capture, share, redeploy and evolve liberatory practices around the world through a lens of Future Belonging. 2024 will see a conceptual shift in the form of the school, embracing more regular dialogue and connection around organizing for global change.”
